Ian Berry

Land & Wildlife Manager

  • Ian is a former Royal Marine who on completion of 13 Years service established a career in Land and Wildlife Manager. He studied forestry at the Dartington Institute and has worked as a forester, head ranger and estate manager. In the latter role he had sole responsibility for the whole estate which included security of a historic house with a valuable collection of paintings, furniture and silver. Protection of the estate and its assets, which included fixed and moveable assets, anti poaching initiatives as well as safeguarding SSSI’s, SACs and listed and ancient buildings was a key part of this role.
  • Latterly Ian has been the Programme Manager of the Gamekeeping, Land and Wildlife management courses at Duchy College in Cornwall.
  • Ian manages wild and park deer for an estate in Cornwall and is an advisor on deer management for several NGOs and private landowners.
