Secure Forests delivers its work through a practical, field-based model that combines training, conservation and capability development.
Rather than separating these activities, we integrate them — enabling people to develop skills while contributing to real-world environmental outcomes.
Training & Transition
Our training pathways are designed to support military and emergency service veterans, particularly those transitioning from the military or emergency services into civilian life.
Delivery is structured, practical and grounded in real environments. The focus is on building capability through experience — developing skills, confidence and direction over time.
The Land Management & Wildlife Conservation Course provides a foundation for this work, enabling participants to gain experience and move towards further training, employment or wider opportunity.
Alongside this, we are developing paid training opportunities for individuals and organisations seeking structured, high-quality land-based training.
Applied Conservation & Land Management
We undertake conservation and land management activity in live environments, including at Mount Edgcumbe and across partner sites.
This work provides the context in which training takes place. Participants contribute directly to real projects, gaining experience while supporting the management and improvement of landscapes.
Our focus is on delivery — practical, disciplined work that creates measurable environmental outcomes for the environments and organisations we support.
Environmental Intelligence
We are developing environmental monitoring and intelligence capability as a natural extension of our work in the field.
This builds on direct experience of landscapes and land management, combining observation, data and emerging approaches to support more informed environmental decision-making.
This work is being developed alongside, but distinct from Secure Forests International.
