Practical skills. Real environments. Clear pathways.
Secure Forests delivers practical environmental training designed to help people build skills, confidence and genuine opportunities within the rural, conservation and land management sectors.
Our programmes are delivered in real working environments, primarily across the 850 acres of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. Participants spend much of their time outdoors, learning through practical experience rather than simply sitting in a classroom.
We currently offer programmes for military and emergency service veterans, young people preparing for employment, and individuals who want to fund their own training and develop the qualifications and practical experience needed to enter the sector.
Depending on the programme, training can include chainsaw operation, brushcutting, ATV and UTV use, forestry first aid, wildlife management, drone work, Cornish hedging, conservation activity and emerging environmental technology through Forest Signal.
Alongside technical skills, we focus on confidence, resilience, teamwork, employability and helping people understand the range of opportunities available across the environmental sector.
Whether you are transitioning from the Armed Forces, starting out in your working life or looking for a completely new career, our aim is simple, to give you practical skills, recognised training and the experience to take your next step with confidence.
