After leaving the military following 22 years of service, Andrew faced the challenge of being made redundant from three consecutive jobs before finding himself working in the security industry. Although it provided employment, He was still looking for a career that gave him a greater sense of purpose.

That changed when he met Richard at Secure Forests and was introduced to land management. Since then, he has developed practical skills in areas such as Cornish hedging and become increasingly involved with Secure Forests, supporting its work and helping to train and develop others.

Andrew says, “It has been a rewarding change of direction, allowing me to combine the experience and values gained during my military career with practical land-based skills and the opportunity to help others build their own confidence, knowledge and future prospects.”
