We are delighted to announce that Secure Forests CIC has received a £5,000 grant from Veteran Force to support the continued development of our work with veterans and the wider community.
The funding will help us build on the experience, skills and leadership of the veterans involved with Secure Forests, creating further opportunities for them to support others through practical conservation, training and community activity.
A key part of our future development is expanding the successful approach we have built through our Land Management & Wildlife Conservation Programme to support new groups, including young people who are not currently in employment, education or training.
Veterans bring a huge amount of practical experience, resilience, teamwork and leadership, and this funding will help us use those strengths to create positive outcomes beyond the veteran community itself.
Through Secure Forests, participants can contribute to practical environmental work, support others to build confidence and skills, and help create stronger pathways into employment and further opportunities.
The grant will also support the wider delivery infrastructure needed as our programmes continue to grow and reach more people.
We are extremely grateful to Veteran Force for recognising the value of this work and for supporting our ambition to create a model where veterans can continue making a meaningful contribution to people, communities and the natural environment.
This funding is another important step in helping Secure Forests develop people, protect nature and create futures.
